MINUTES CITY OF NASHUA CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE January 4, 2016 Meeting called to order by Dan Kelly at 6:02 PM Roll call by: Dan Kelly, Chair Those Present: David Fredette Larry Szetela Roger Houston Charles Budris Dan Moriarty (Alderman) Tom Lopez (Alternate Alderman) Staff – Marcia Wilkins Linda Panny Absent – John Griffin, Bob Canaway Approval of Minutes: Mr. Budris made a motion to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fredette and approved unanimously. Discussion Item: Alderman Moriarty introduced Tom Lopez, the new Alderman. He will be the alternate for CIC. Presentations: The following departments gave their presentations for capital improvements project requests: Airport Authority This year they are seeking 5% share from the city for paving and to prepare the Airport Master Plan Update, Vegetation Manage Plan. Nashua Fire Rescue Their #1 priority project is the addition of a bay at Station 3, Spit Brook Road Fire Station. The #2 project is the deferred maintenance and the #3 priority is extending the fire alarm system. Police Department Their top priority is the replacement of the roof for the 5-bay garage and firing range and repaving the parking lot. Department of Public Works Engineering Department is looking for funding for annual street paving, sidewalk construction and road construction. Street Department is looking for sidewalk replacement/repair for pedestrian safety. Parks and Recreation is looking for central irrigation system and the repair of the Crown Hill pool. Solid Waste priority projects include landfill gas expansion and the setback barrier wall. Wastewater is looking for funding for projects to include maintenance plan, HVAC for admin building and water booster station. The next meeting will be January 11, 2016.
