DISCUSSION
Alderman Pressly
Thank you Madam Mayor. Not knowing where else to bring this up, I would like to bring it up here because it is
regarding some bonding that was done before I came on board. In moving around the Aldermanic Chambers,
I am wondering if there could be some work added involving some improvements to the Chamber. I would like
to ask how we go about doing that. I don’t know if when you analyzed the improvements to City Hall if you
considered what the Chamber needed.
Specifically I would like to get that boiler or whatever it is removed from our space in the back room there.
Mayor Lozeau
Part of the HVAC system upgrades include some attention to that. I am not certain if it is going to be removed,
but I will certainly take a look at that.
Alderman Pressly
If you would, I am sure they are going to shut it down, but if that could be…
Mayor Lozeau
If they are going to shut it down it will be removed.
Alderman Pressly
That would really be helpful because we need that space, and in a perfect world it would be nice to take down
the wall and have open space. I will settle for just having that removed.
Mayor Lozeau
I was just going to say that is good because one of the problems that we have with the HVAC systems and one
of the reasons that we had to do all of the work we did is because the system got out of balance when people

took down or put up walls throughout the building. The way the system has now been designed, I am very
hesitant to take down any walls or things like that.
Alderman Pressly
It could be used for storage space…
Mayor Lozeau
No I understand.
Alderman Pressly
…but that big clunky whatever it is, it looks to me like a boiler, if that could be taken out that would be
wonderful.
The other thing in electrical work, if you could have more outlets along the side of the room here so Aldermen
who want to plug something in will be able to do that.
Mayor Lozeau
Okay.
Alderman Pressly
The third item that would be helpful; we have wasted space in the hallway off to the side there, and if they
could put a wall or even a door out here, that space along the hallway could also be used for storage.
Mayor Lozeau
I had talked to the former President of the Board and I have been talking with the current President about
changes in the building. I will certainly have that conversation, and he has heard it from you and we can
certainly take a look.
Alderman Pressly
I would appreciate that because we are 15, we don’t have a lot of space, no one has an office, it is difficult to
have a private conversation with a constituent or even just a meeting anywhere. It would be nice to have a
little extra storage space at least. Thank you for considering.
Mayor Lozeau
I am certain we will take it under consideration.
Alderman Pressly
Thank you.
Mayor Lozeau
You are welcome. Is there further discussion this evening?
