ON THE QUESTION
Chairman Wilshire
This is for their breathing apparatus. Their equipment is 15 years old and that’s the maximum life time
expectancy of that equipment so they got grant money to buy new breathing apparatus. There is a
10% city match which is $46,592 and they plan on using CERF to help with the match.
Alderman Sheehan
They were going to have to buy this regardless so the fact that someone went and got the grant for it –
it’s a really good thing for the city has a lesser impact because there is a match instead of the whole
thing.

ON THE QUESTION
Chairman Wilshire
This grant is for a Raman Spectrometer meter to be used by the HazMat Team. It assists responders
with chemical identification with unknown substances that have either spilled or leaked. It was
identified as a gap in the HazMat Response Team and there is no city match required on this grant.

GENERAL DISCUSSION
Alderman Sheehan
I want to say to Nashua Crossing what a great job they have done with their new memory care living
facility. It was a beautiful facility and it was an excellent ceremony to cut the ribbon and I think it really
fits a need in Nashua.
Chairman Wilshire
I was sorry that I was unable to attend that, that’s great.
