JOINT SPECIAL SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE THURSDAY, APRIL 21,2011 NHS NORTH BOARD ROOM A meeting of the Joint Special School Building Committee was held at NHS North on Thursday, April 21,2011. Mr. Dowd called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Alderman McCarthy let the Pledge of Allcgtancc. Present: Alderman Chasse, Alderman Cox, Alderman Flynn, Alderman LaRose, Alderman McCarthy, Alderman Vitale, Alderman Wilshire, Mr, Dowd, Mr. Haas, Mr. Ilallowell, Mr. Ryder Alderman Melizzi-Golja is ill; Alderman Tabacsko is out of town Also Present: Mr. Smith, Mr. Donovan Previous Meeting Minutes Approval Alderman McCarthy moved that the previous minutes of the JSSBC meeting held March 24,2011 be accepted and placed on file and the readings be waived. So Voted. Remarks by Chairman [Mr, Powcj Thank you everyone for coming this evening. Committee Reports Alderman McCarthy moved that the minutes of the Construction Projects Committee meeting held on Thursday, March 24,2011 be accepted, placed on file and the readings waived. So Voted. Alderman McCarthy moved to suspend the rules to allow for an oral report of a meeting of the Construction Projects Committee held earlier this evening. So voted. Alderman McCarthy The Construction Projects Committee met earlier this evening and took the following actions: Approved a contract award for miscellaneous metals which includes a set of stairs in the basement, the trench drains in the basement and the HVAC equipment supports in the amount of $31,320, which is the amount budgeted and to award the contract for visual display boards which are the temporary whiteboards for the temporary classrooms to School Furnishings for $6,818 which is below the budgeted amount. The committee also approved change order #8 in the amount of 10,539.31.. .that being changes discovered during the commissioning review of the HVAC design. And they also awarded tote boxes for packing up the schools to Collin Box & Supply in the amount of S1,920.56 contingent upon on figuring out if there are rental options for less. ALDERMAN McCARTHY MOVED THAT THE JSSBC COMMITTEE CONCUR WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS MADE BY THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS COMMITTEE ON APRIL 21,2011. SO VOTED. JSSBC COMMITTEE MEETING April 21, 2011 ALDERMAN McCARTHY MOVED TO APPROVE PAYMENT TO TURNER BUILDING SCIENCE & DESIGN FOR INVOICES #5166 AND #5169 IN THE AMOUNT O F $21,669.40, TO CX ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT O F $3,771.83 AND T O HARVEY CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT O F $15,729.45. SO VOTED. Mr. Smith The motions that were just passed are included in the Financial Report and it's up to date. I will includc the change orders approved today in next month's Financial Report.
