Joan Haskell – DBHRT Joe McDonald – Rivier College Page 2 of 4 Nashua Local Emergency Planning Committee Agenda Topics Accept Previous Minutes Discussion: Motion made to accept minutes from April 1, 2010 meeting Motion Seconded Conclusions: Minutes of April 1, 2010 meeting accepted Committee Reports Out Reach & Education Discussion: ICS form Training being done in Nashua in September Online classes for ICS trainings are available @ www.training.fema.gov/IS/ Psychological First Aid Training being held on June 2, 2010 @ Rivier College from 8:30 to 3:00 PM. There is no cost for the class please contact Barbara Scacco at ScaccoB@Nashuanh.gov if interested. EOP – No change SMART Report Discussion: No emergency responses Continued training being done in the department currently doing a Level A Suit and leak prop exercise. Received DECON Tent will be developing a training exercise in the next 60 days. Citizens Corp./MRC/DBHRT/DART Discussion: CERT- MRC – Will be attending the Community Bike Race DART – Still recruiting volunteers COAD – Had a recent meeting to network with businesses getting them to know how theywould fit into emergency events. Have had good turn outs at meetings. Getting an Intern for the summer going to have them work on arranging volunteer recruitment. Working on getting local COAD into the State COAD. Page 3 of 4 Nashua Local Emergency Planning Committee Old Business NIMS Compliance- Continuing to work on getting training completed for those that still need it. Working with DPW set up our Library to accommodate the NIMS training for them. NFR is going to host a NIMS 400 class the 1st week of September State of Emergency Declaration - The preliminary damages for this storm is approx. a quarter million dollars. There will be a required meeting next week on how we should be applying for monies. Communication with PSNH was much improved. Nashua had approx. 11,000 outages but was back up in short time frame. Thoreau’s Landing – Applied for a grant but was denied have since filed an appeal request. New Business Disaster Declaration-FEMA-1892-NH Just finishing up with this event. Disaster Declaration-FEMA-1913-NH is for the last two flooding events. The state has met the threshold for this declaration and Hillsborough County is included Mayors proposed budget has included a fulltime Emergency Operations Manager have to wait to see if passes budget process. Individual Group Updates / Other Business GIS – Flyovers were just completed NPD – All is quiet SNHRMC – planning a live evacuation drill Enviro. Health – working on a boil order plan if we had an accident like the Boston area had recently Harcross – Business is good, had a drill last week Aries – Training Ham Radio Operators on 6/12/10 & 6/19/10 at Nashua Red Cross office Reminder to all that May is National Building Safety Month – if you get a chance check out Channel 16 to see a presentation that Fire Marshal Wood did.
