since last LEPC meeting. Lot of work being done with Dive Team and new boat.
Volunteers (COAD/VOAD/Citizen Corps): Justin talked about the response of volunteer
organizations during Irene, full force, great job. Gene Heighton advised that COAD is having
meeting September 20th. 8th of September will be the Medical Reserve Corps meeting.
Exercise and Training: Mike Dolan from Salvation Army talked about Airport drill involvement.
Both hospitals as well as Rockingham Ambulance will also be involved on October 1st. Fletcher
Seagoves is talking about Simulated Emergency Test in November to test amateur radio
resources. Patty Crooker is planning an exercise setting up Alternate Care Site soon, and also
Strategic National Stockpile training.
Public Information: Justin talked about the idea behind a Joint Information System to unify
messages to the public from both public and private sector.
Old Business:
WebEOC training discussed by Rick Wood. Many entities trained on WebEOC over the past
few months. Used extremely well during Irene with a great running log of the entire event.
Looking at continuing that training to ensure all agencies have access. Issues at the State in
regards to viewing access by Hospitals and MACE on WebEOC which has been reported to
their organization. Chris Lessard from School District talked about his use of WebEOC from his
home during Irene. Important to practice using WebEOC using the training event created in the
system.
Emergency Operations Plan was discussed by Justin Kates. Will be asking for information that
needs to be included in plan from all Divisions
New Business:
Hurricane Irene Response was very successful. Full After Action Review will be completed in
the near future, meeting being scheduled. Individual Assistance and Public Assistance process
started and the Preliminary Damage Assessment will be complete soon. City interested in how
private sector did on response to Irene. Scott Cote from SNHMC was interested in how a
strategy can be developed for stormwater drainage overflow issues. Important issue to protect
critical infrastructure like hospitals from flood water.
Justin Reviewed National Preparedness Month. Materials available on Ready.gov for private
sector organizations to use. Internal communications with employees on how to stay prepared
is just as important.
Rick Wood mentioned that the City will have a new ambulance vendor soon and for private
sector organizations to be aware. Vendor not decided yet.
Justin gave a presentation on his background and on possible emergency management projects
over the next year.
LEPC participants asked for a potential host for the next meeting. Next meeting is 10/6/11.
