Meeting started at 3:15pm
Committee Reports:
Volunteers (VOAD/Citizen Corps): Justin noted that Citizen Corps Council Charter is just waiting
for approval. Neighborhood Watch, Board of Aldermen, Daniel Webster College, and numerous
other residents are interested in starting CERT teams in their neighborhoods
Training & Exercises: AMR will be working to complete a Mass Casualty exercise in June. St.
Joseph and SNHMC will also be working in this exercise.
SMART Report: No rep from NFR present
Outreach & Education: None
Public Information: New Facebook and Twitter account has been busy.
Old Business:
Family Emergency Preparedness Day 2012 – Event to be held on September 22nd from 10-
3pm. Will be held inside only. Currently working with Pheasant Lane Mall to complete the
Vendor Confirmation form so we have an accurate number of chairs, tables, power needed for
event.
New Business:
New Nashua OEM website is up and running. Lot of integration with social media. Special
section of website for emergency specific info during incidents with mapping.
Any non-profit organizations interested in obtaining some training in how to complete FEMA
Public Assistance forms can contact Justin Kates.
Nashua Emergency Management is working with Nashua Police Department to investigate the
acquisition of an Emergency Notification System (Code Red, Nixle, etc). Currently been
involved in demonstrations and planning meetings on how the system will work.
Jill Longval from Nashua Regional Planning Commission reviewed 2012 Hazard Mitigation Plan
Kick-off. Group has a list of homework to complete before the next LEPC/Hazard Mitigation
Committee meeting. Website address is here:
