1. Call to Order and Scott - Meeting called to order by committee vice chairman Scott Rogers at 7:00 p.m.
- Feb. 1, 2010 Minutes approved unanimously without revision.
Approval of minutes
2. Park-Rec Nick - Boulders have been identified at the landfill for placement in the park. Will be accomplished once mud season is
over.
- Birdhouses on Cove. Nick suggested that during a Trail Day when the Cove fence is removed we leave every third
pole up for placement of a birdhouse as an Eagle Scout project. The birdhouses could sit atop the pole, thread the top,
put a flange on top and secure the birdhouse to it. Will check with Audubon Society for appropriate birdhouse.
- Nick introduced Steve Paquin a recreation major from UNH who is working as an intern with the department. Steve
gave an update on signage process stating he has each entrance to the park on pictometry, including the Shore Drive
entrance. The new signs will have a Plexiglas slot for announcements and the wording established two years ago
about rules etc.
- Trail Day registration signs (two) have been ordered and will be ready for the April 17 Trail Day.
- Inventory compiled and given to Sean.
- New shirts and jackets and hats will be ready at M&N as order was placed on Friday Feb. 26.
- Financial report will be made at the April 5 meeting.
-Nick reported the park was not hit that hard during the last ferocious rain and wind storm though there were some
trees down and flooding along the Purple Trail by the Nashua River. Pine tree branches along trails could be cleaned
during the Trail Day.
- Walk through was scheduled for March 27 with an alternate date of April 3 in case of snow still being in the park.
Meet at 9 a.m. at the Lincoln Park entrance.
3 Vice Chairman's Notes Scott - Scott noted for all to try and attend the walk through in the park on March 27, or April 3, so damage assessment and
. possible Trail Day activities can be planned.
- Scott also urged members to continue to patrol Maple Island. He hasn't been down as often to be sure it stays clean. -
Introduced the newest member of the committee Ed Moran of Nashua.
- With only one member of several sub committees on hand; Scott reminded those in attendance that much of the work
can be done by the individuals by e-mail.
- Publicity subcommittee spokesman Greg displayed a poster board of past Trail Days and newspaper articles and
photos which the publicity subcommittee will have on hand for the Trail Days at the registration table or Gatehouse
when tours are given. Publicity subcommittee also displayed materials for use by members who do give Gatehouse
tours.
- Added Bill Luers to the Gatehouse sub committee
- Added Jesse Walsh to the Maple Island/ Cove subcommittee.

4 Old Business All - Birdhouses: Scott noted that if Nick cannot find anyone for the Eagle Scout project to put the birdhouses up then the
. birdhouses be purchased if need be. Nick didn't think he would have a problem. Scott also noted the cleaning of the
birdhouses could also be a Trail Day project. .
- Dave Silva mentioned the problem a woman had on a motorized wheelchair in getting into the park from the
Millyard entrance. Nick stated there was room on the left side of the entrance for handicapped access that was 40
inches wide. He will have his crew double check the entrance.
-The pathway could be cleaned of debris and as a Trail Day project also. It was noted by Mark Soucy the Millyard
entrance was suggested as an area to be dealt with at a Trail Day in the past.
.
5 New Business All - Have a notice sent out before March 27 as a reminder for the March 27 walk through.
.
6 Adjournment Scott The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
