Mine Falls Park Advisory Committee- August 5, 2013 Minutes ATTENDEES: Pam Anderson, Greg Andruskevich, Ed Moran, David Silva, Mark Soucy, Dick Gillespie, Mike Dillon, Nick, Caggiano. Guests - Brian Edwards, Shoko Yashikowa and Alderman-at-Large Barbara Pressly TOPIC LEAD DISCUSSION / CONCLUSIONS 1. Call to order Greg: - Call to order 7p.m. - Minutes for the June 3 meeting to be resent to the committee for acceptance in September. 2. Guest Speaker - Barbara Pressley Barbara Pressley invited the committee to join her at for the Citizens Forum regarding the concern with the clearing of the Nashua River bed and banking. The meeting will be held on Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Nashua's City Hall (third floor). 3. Park/Rec Nick - The paving project has now been completed. Letters with compliments have been sent to the town on the great job. - The interns, Jen and Hanna have been busy doing a lot of summer projects and will be returning to school soon. - Water chestnuts - The first harvest has been completed. But due to the weather, not many water chestnuts have risen. The second harvest is up for discussion and will be decided over the next week if or when they should return. - Nick was given the slides for Channel 16 - Nick will continue getting prices for the Polaris. - The new trailer-mounted power washer has arrived. 3. Chairman's notes Greg - Site for the Carol Rust Kayak launch is open for discussion. The possible locations of by the Gatehouse boat launch and Mark Soucy suggested by the bridge at the Whipple Street entrance. 4. Old Business All. - Red trail - Dick reported good progress and will continue in August - Striping for the Lincoln Park entrance has not yet been decided but is on the scheduled to do list -The police have been stopping by frequently and ticketing cars parked inappropriately at the Whipple St entrance.
