PERSONNEL/ADMINISTRATIVE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE DECEMBER 18, 2013 A meeting of the Personnel/Administrative Affairs Committee was held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. in the Aldermanic Chamber. Chairman Paul M. Chasse, Jr. presided. Members of the Committee present: Alderman Arthur T. Craffey, Jr., Vice Chair Alderman June M. Caron Members not in Attendance: Alderman Kathy Vitale Alderman Diane Sheehan Also in Attendance: Mayor Donnalee Lozeau PUBLIC COMMENT - None INTERVIEWS Board of Assessors Robert Earley (New Appointment) Indefinite Term at the Pleasure of the Mayor Daniel Gagnon (New Appointment) Indefinite Term at the Pleasure of the Mayor Mayor Lozeau I appreciate the committee having a special meeting tonight to take care of appointments to the Board of Assessors. The Board consists of three people and currently a single alternate. Board Assessor Kevin Moriarty had to step down due to his commitment to the Board of Public Works. Mr. George Farrington just got elected to the School Board so he will have to step down. We would be down to a single assessor and an alternate. I am going to introduce Mr. Bob Early and Mr. Dan Gagnon. Both gentlemen have a lot of property experience. I met Mr. Early through the Recycling Committee and was impressed with what he brought to the table. I know that he has known the City Treasurer for a long time and he thought he would be an asset to the Board of Assessors. Mr. Gagnon and I have served together on the Board of Public Works for six years. He’s not going to be on that Board as of January and I thought it would be a great fit for him as well. I look for qualities such as professionalism, objectivity, the ability to look at the city as whole, and that they are able to participate in the meetings. They have both assured me that they are able to do that. Mr. Early I have lived in Nashua for ten years. I came from Massachusetts. I have worked as a property manager here in New Hampshire for ten years managing condominium associations in Nashua as well as other communities in the area. Personnel – 12/18/13 Page 2 Mr. Gagnon I was born and raised in Nashua. I’ve lived here my entire life. I have been investing in properties in Nashua for over twenty years. I have managed properties for over twenty five years in Nashua. We do buying, selling, and renovating. I have two real estate agents that I work with and I keep up-to-date with market values.
