FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES VILLAGE OF NILES , ILLINOIS March 7, 2019 7000 W. Touhy Avenue Niles, IL 60714 Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order at 10:21 A.M. and took roll call. Present: Commissioner Pacheco, Commissioner Borkowki, Chairman Mueller and Fire Chief Feld. Absent: Police Chief Tigera. Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the December 6, 2018 meeting were approved. Motion: Commissioner Borkowski. Second: Chairman Mueller. Yeas: Commissioner Pacheco, Commissioner Borkowki, Chairman Mueller. Nays: . Abstain:. Correspondence: None. Old Business: None. New Business: Discuss Firefighter hiring. Other departments processing candidates off of new list. Therefore, hold off processing new candidates for a month or so. Discuss Police hiring. Lateral application period is completed. Will vet applications and then hold interviews to further evaluate candidates that pass the vetting process. The regular meeting was closed at 10:27 A.M. and opened in Executive Session per 5 ILCS 120/2 (1) Personnel. Motion: Commissioner Pacheco. Second: Commissioner Borkowki. Yeas: Commissioner Pacheco, Commissioner Borkowki, Chairman Mueller. Nays: . Abstain:. The Executive Session opened at 10:16 A.M. to discuss Fire and Police personnel matters. The regular meeting was reconvened at 10:32 A.M. The next regular monthly meeting of the Commission is scheduled for April 4, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. The regular meeting was adjourned at 10:33 A.M.
