FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES VILLAGE OF NILES , ILLINOIS July 1, 2021 7000 W. Touhy Avenue Niles, IL 60714 Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order at 10:18 A.M. and took roll call. Present: Commissioner Borkowki, Commissioner Dart, Chairman Mueller, Fire Chief Feld and Police Chief Tigera. Absent: Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the March 30, 2021 meeting were approved. Motion: Commissioner Borkowski. Second: Chairman Mueller. Yeas: Commissioner Borkowski, Chairman Mueller. Nays: . Abstain: Commissioner Dart. The minutes of the April 7, 2021 meeting were approved. Motion: Commissioner Borkowski. Second: Chairman Mueller. Yeas: Commissioner Borkowski, Chairman Mueller. Nays: . Abstain: Commissioner Dart. Correspondence: None. Old Business: None. New Business: Discuss Police Lateral Transfer program. 19 candidates applied. 18 were from Chicago. Discuss interviewing 8 candidates. Have three present openings and perhaps one additional opening in the near future. New Police eligibility list has been posted. Discuss new hiree to replace opening as a result of Deputy Chief Penze’s retirement. Discuss new hiree for Fire Department. The regular meeting was closed at 10:36 A.M. and opened in Executive Session per 5 ILCS 120/2 (1) Personnel. Motion: Commissioner Borkowski. Second: Commissioner Dart. Yeas: Commissioner Borkowki, Commissioner Dart, Chairman Mueller. Nays: . Abstain:. The Executive Session opened at 10:36 A.M. to discuss Fire and Police personnel matters. The regular meeting was reconvened at 10:44 A.M. The next regular monthly meeting of the Commission is scheduled for August 5, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. The regular meeting was adjourned at 10:45 A.M..
