Senior Center: (Kelly Mickle)
Village Clerk
Marlene J. Victorine Kelly stated that the Senior Center performance measures have been difficult to
implement because of the frequency of interactions and interruptions, particularly during
the recent Lifeline conversion. The measure tracking volunteer hours and members coming
to the facility has been more successful but there is room for improvement. Staff is planning
to implement changes to the volunteer program with an estimated start date of January
2015. Volunteer jobs and responsibilities will be better defined and hours will be tracked
through a computerized system.
The Meals on Wheels program has had a number of appropriate referrals in recent
months resulting in increased numbers. Trustee Palicki requested that the guidelines of the
program be reviewed to possibility include individuals receiving help in the home.
The group discussed a possible name change for the Center with a consensus that no
changes be made until the Village rebranding project is completed.
Kelly reported that the computer lab is in the process of receiving new equipment
and as a result the staff is striving to recreate the space for younger seniors, offering a wide
array of new classes and services.
