Milwaukee Avenue Streetscape Committee MEETING SUMMARY Wednesday, October 20, 2011 The following persons were present: Chair Chris Hanusiak, Chuck Ostman, Denise McCreery, Bob Pilat and Steve Vinezeano. Chair Hanusiak opened the meeting at 10:35 a.m. I. Approve Draft Meeting Summaries: a. The Committee approved the draft summary from October 12, 2011. II. Old Business: a. Seasonal Banner Update. Denise McCreery put up slides of the banner designs. The banner designs had themes of: 1. Dine Niles; 2. Discover Niles; 3. Shop Niles; and 4. Celebrate Niles. The Committee chose their favorite banner design (with some amendments) for each of the themes. The top choices of the Committee were: i. Dine Niles. Wine and Cheese. ii. Discover Niles. Kids with Blue Rays. iii. Shop Niles. Female Silhouette Missing Feet. A change will be to bring silhouette down to connect with black base. iv. Celebrate Niles. Fireworks with Flag. A change of moving “Celebrate Niles” up to top and make All American City bigger. There was discussion regarding the letter to the Trustees. The Trustees will receive today a letter and email with the top choices and one other of the second choices. The choices of the Committee are final, so this is more information. Denise may mention this at the Board meeting and see if there are any questions. The letter will address the timing issue and that the banners are being paid for through a grant (TCSP). II.
