APPROVED MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLAN COMMISSION AND ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS VILLAGE OF NILES COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS MAY 11, 2015 The Niles Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Chairman Kanelos asked everyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. Present with Chairman Thomas Kanelos were Commissioners Angelo Troiani, Robert Schulter and Morgan Dubiel. Village Attorney Joseph Annunzio and Charles Ostman, Director of Community Development were also in attendance. OLD BUSINESS 15-ZP-21 Requesting approval of a Special Use Permit as provided in Village Ordinance Section 78-92(3)(c) to allow a full color LED digital sign at 8203 West Golf Road. NEW BUSINESS NONE 15-ZP-21 Requesting approval of a Special Use Permit as provided in Village Ordinance Section 78-92(3)(c) to allow a full color LED digital sign at 8203 West Golf Road. Chuck Ostman, Director of Community Development, presented this case. Fresh Farms is in the process of renovating the former Jewel/Osco store at 8203 Golf Rd. in Four Flags Shopping Center. They are requesting a Special Use to install a four color LED electronic sign located on the existing ground sign on Golf Rd. The Village sign ordinance has the following sign rules [located in the packet regarding this case]. There are letters A thru K. The applicant would comply with all regulations except one - that this would be a four color LED sign. . Mr. Ostman indicated that a representative was present this evening to answer any questions. The question was raised what percentage was the LED electronic sign to the entire sign. Commissioner Dubiel moved to APPROVE 15-ZP-21 Seconded by Commissioner Schulter, on roll call the vote was: AYES:4 Dubiel, Troiani, Schulter, Kanelos NAYS: 0 Chairman Kanelos made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Dubiel moved to adjourn . Seconded by Commissioner Schulter, on roll call the vote was: AYES:4 Dubiel, Troiani, Schulter, Kanelos NAYS: 0 There being six (4) affirmative votes the motion carried.
