Works
Fred Braun spoke about the need for this change stating, “ Public works needs
to have an identity.” The sign in front of Public Services would need to be
changed to Public Works. That would have to be budgeted for next year.
Words stating the word Public Services in our Code of Ordinances would need

Item Two: 9101 Greenwood Avenue building demolition update
Demolition of 9101 Greenwood Avenue will take place after Labor Day
weekend. Asbestos removal and rodent inspection can take place prior to the
demolition. The Village is receiving a $45,000 credit for recyclable material.
Item Three: Street name signs
Public Works have received a lot of positive feedback about the signs. The sign
project consists of over 1000 signs, not including the neighborhood signs.
Installation consists of new anchors, posts, new brackets, and new finials. Public
Works are making all the signs from scratch. Time line for this project, will
depend of the weather. Public Works are currently saving the old street signs.
Public Works and Village Hall are looking to sell, or possibly auction off the old
signs.
Item Four: Impacts of street parking during plowing operations
In 2017, Public Works distributed letters to certain areas of town where the
parking problem was most severe. Letters were distributed to the 8300 block of
Wisner, and the Village did receive some cooperation. Letters were also
distributed to the homes along lower Waukegan Rd, and the problem only
became worse. We discussed inviting residents from two more areas of town to
join us at our next meeting. We would like to see if we can reach a solution to
the problem. The motion was made to approve this course of action. Aye – 3,
Nay – 0 Please remember that is if Public Works can’t get down a street, neither
can fire trucks or ambulances
