200,000.00 budgeted for new computers in the police cars.
Item Two: Sidewalk Maintenance Policy
Tom Powers joined the meeting. After meeting with the engineering staff it was
determined based on legal recommendations to not have an official sidewalk
maintenance policy.
Item Three: Private Utility Line Insurance – American Water Recourses
Tom Power & Bob Pilat joined us to discuss AWR & National League of Cities.
NLC has a 30 day waiting period to make a claim. It is less expense, but the
benefits are less. AWR- Rates do not go up if you make a claim. They have an
opt in program. Home owner only pays a monthly fee. You have a 1 year
contract. Costs help cover partial restoration. Driveways are not covered. They
also offer to replace lead services when they run into them. We are not sure if
NLC offers that. We need to revisit this at the next meeting.
Item Four: 8240 Oketo Ave No Parking Sign
The committee recommends not placing a No Parking Sign at 8240 Oketo Ave.
at this time.
Item 5: Village Monument Sign
Tony, Fred, and Chuck met about placement of the signs. First spot is Marcheski
Park. Electric and water is already installed. We are waiting for conformation if
it will be a digital sign or not. The committee also discussed two other locations.
Cumberland & Dempster, and Milwaukee & Greenwood.
Item 6: Updating Tree Ordinance to include Mulberry trees as a nuisance tree.
The committee discussed adding Mulberry trees to the restricted planting list,
having an education initiative with recommendations to have them removed,
and looking for other ways to address nuisance trees on private property.

Item 7: No Left Turn Sign on Nordica at Oakton
It is hard for buses to turn on Nordica from Oakton due to cars backed up on
Nordica waiting to make a left turn. The school proposed restricting left turns for
