STORMWATER COMMISSION MEETING SUMMARY Thursday, April 22, 2010 The following persons were present: Commission Chair Joe Lo Verde, Andrew Vitale, Chuck Ostman, Richard Wlodarski, Scott Jochim, Mousa Nazzal, Steven Vinezeano, and Mayor Callero. Also in attendance were two representatives from Hey and Associates, Inc. Not present was George Van Geem. I. This meeting of the Commission was a short working meeting with Jeffrey Wickenkamp and Thomas Polzin of Hey and Associates, Inc. The goal of the meeting was to finalize the scope of work for the project. The meeting began with comments from GIS regarding future invert work. It was discussed that this commission needs to cooperate with the GIS Committee regarding the collection of invert data for the GIS system. There was also discussion regarding the level of training for GIS personnel on the SWMM system to be utilized by Hey. It was asked if Andrew could sit with the Hey GIS personnel to gain the necessary knowledge for him to learn how it works. Since SWMM is a free and public domain program, the Village can use it well after this phase of the study is complete. Staff asked Hey if they allotted enough time to review the situation and the Stormwater Commission Report. Hey stated they have been actively working with the report to a point that this phase of the work will be very quick. Hey was asked if they were close to completing the Barrington study. Polzin will be sending the information to Chuck. The group then reviewed the proposed “priority” study areas to be modeled. It was determined that GIS should recreate the priority areas and share at a later date. There was much discussion regarding a need to make sure a majority of the residents and issues were studied in the model. A second “phase” would be scheduled for those areas not studied this round. There was a request to ensure the agreement stated “not to exceed” for the cost. II. Next Meeting – TBD
