APPROVED MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMISSION VILLAGE OF NORTHBROOK COOK COUNTY May 17, 2012 Chairman Schwall called the meeting to order in the Terrace Room of the Village Hall at 5:01 PM. On roll call, present were: Members Heidbrink, Jordison, Katz, Rubenstein, Town and Chairman Schwall (7); Absent: Menn (1); also present: T. Poupard, Director of Development and Planning; N. Desario, Assistant Director of Building; M. Kohlstedt, Village Planner; and S. Marinovic, Recorder. Public Comments There were no comments from the public. Review of minutes Member Rubenstein moved, seconded by Member Katz, to approve the minutes of April 12, 2012. On voice vote, the motion carried. Design Review Permit 1249 Shermer Road – Escape Salon: Request for Level III Design Review Permit for Lawn Art Planner Kohlstedt presented the application. The existing sculpture was in replacement of a previous sculpture. The request is a level III design review and will be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for final approval. The sculpture is located approximately five feet from sidewalk. If this sculpture were to be considered a ground sign it would meet the VGO District requirements. Member Rubenstein motioned, seconded by Member Katz, to approve the sculpture as presented. On voice vote, the motion carried. Distribution of 2012 International Residential Code and Review Schedule Director Poupard reported that Staff has been reviewing the local amendments. The Commission is scheduled to review the Codes within the next few months. Single Family Home Elevations The following Single Family Homes were reviewed. Member Rubenstein motioned, seconded by Member Katz, to allow Staff to review the elevations and handle the appropriate paperwork for the following elevations: o 1951 Alexandra Court o 2355 Asbury Lane – Member Town recused himself. o 2214 Farnsworth Lane On voice vote, the motion carried. New Business There was no new business. Old Business There was no old business. Adjourn Member Town moved, seconded by Member Jordison, that the meeting be adjourned.
