20 Chairman Schwall called the meeting to order in the Terrace Room of Village Hall, 1225 Cedar Lane, at
21 5:35 p.m.

24 Roll was established. There was a quorum.

26 Review of Minutes
27 Commissioner Menn moved, seconded by Commissioner Jordison to approve the June meeting minutes
28 with one correction – that on page 2, Line 9, the motion was seconded by Member Menn. On a voice
29 vote, there were all ayes, and the motion was unanimously approved.

31 Public Comments Regarding Items Not on the Agenda

34 780 Skokie – Kriser’s Wall Sign
35 Assistant Director Schoon briefed the Commission on the sign height discrepancy that had been
36 identified by staff on the rear of the building with Zengeler’s Cleaners, Noodles & Company and
37 Chipotle. The signs were to be at the same height and they are not. The developer is going to correct
38 the situation so they are properly aligned. Mr. Schoon then introduced William Holley of Bright Light
39 Sign Co. who was present on behalf of Kriser’s. Mr. Holley explained the color palette proposed.
40 Member Katz made a motion to approve the sign as presented. The motion was seconded by member
41 Menn. On voice vote the motion carried unanimously.
42 Update on Various Development Proposals Likely Coming to the ACC in the Near Future
43 Director Poupard advised the Commission that a number of Plan Commission matters will likely be
44 coming to the ACC very soon. He noted that Anets Woods SF Planned Development (Voltz &

1 Waukegan), the 1000 Skokie Boulevard Mixed Use project and Shermer Road Townhouses Planned
2 Development are all under review. Several of these may come to the ACC as early as next month.
3 Recent Policy Changes at IDPH Regarding Local Plumbing Amendments
4 Director Poupard advised the Commission that the Illinois Department of Public Health has recently
5 reversed their prior position on local amendments to the plumbing code. He said that the Village staff
6 will now be looking to amend the recently adopted building code to prohibit a number of inferior
7 products allowed by the base State Plumbing Code.
8 New Single Family Home Elevations:
9 The ACC reviewed the information on the new single family home elevations for the following:
10 1. 2146 Ash Lane (R-5 District), Dima architects
11 2. 1455 Coral Parkway (R-4 District), Daniel Lesus, architect
12 3. 2199 Farnsworth Lane (R-4 District), Jack Oblazia & Associates, architects
13 4. 1441 Pfingsten Road, (R-4 District), Mosghan & Associates, architects
14 5. 1936 Redwood Lane (R-5 District), William Brown, architect
15 6. 2144 Woodlawn Road (R-4 District, Mark Golan, architect
16 A motion was made by Member Menn, seconded by Member Town to approve these single-family
17 home elevations as presented. On a voice vote, the motion passed with Member Katz abstaining.

20 Director Poupard briefed the Commission on the recent discussions with contractors regarding drain tile
21 inspections and the possibility of requiring a different type of foundation drain system when a
22 residential basement is particularly deep.

28 There being no further business, Commissioner Menn moved, seconded by Commissioner Jordison, to
29 adjourn the meeting. On a voice vote, the motion unanimously carried and the meeting adjourned at
30 6:15 pm.
