39 Senior Planner Kohlstedt explained that the Applicant was returning to the ACC even though a sign had
40 been recommended for approval at the November meeting. She noted that the sign contractor
41 determined that it was not practical to construct the approved sign and was now suggesting a modified
42 design that involved a cabinet.
43 The sign contractor described the sign design in greater detail. Member Men inquired if the sign cabinet
44 would match the color of the building faced and it was confirmed that it would. Ms. Kohlstedt
45 confirmed that the revised sign still met all of the Zoning Code requirements.
1
1 Member Menn made a motion, seconded by Member Heidbrink to recommend approval of the
2 Consumers Credit Wall Sign for 1344 Shermer Road as presented with the condition that the cabinet
3 color match that of the building facade. On voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.
4 794 Skokie Boulevard – Noodles & Company – Second Wall Sign
5 Director Poupard noted that the ACC had previously approved o e wall sign for Noodles & Company that
6 faced Skokie Boulevard. He stated that the applicant would now like a second sign on that is on the
7 adjoining wall surface – at a 90-degree angle to the previously approved sign. He added that the sign
8 would be the same size and height and otherwise complied with Zoning Code standards. Chairman
9 Schwall said he thought it was a good idea so that the business had improved visibility.
10 Member Town moved, seconded by Member Heidbrink to approve the Noodles and Company sign as
11 presented. On voice vote the motion passed unanimously.
