MINUTES OF THE NORTHBROOK ARTS COMMISSION VILLAGE OF NORTHBROOK June 4, 2015 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Julia Miller at 7:05 p.m. at the Northbrook Village Hall in the Terrace Room. Commissioners present: Jerry Block, Frank Lamberti, Sharon Moyer and Cherie Natenberg. Commissioners Excused: Steve Gianni, Marilyn Jamora and Christopher Laughlin. Commissioners Absent: None Guests in attendance: None MINUTES: Chairman Julia Miller asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the March 5th and April 9th meetings. Commissioner Moyer called for the motion and Commissioner Block seconded. All in favor minutes were approved HERE FROM THE AUDIENCE: None FINANCIAL REPORT Chairman Miller The commission discussed the Analysis of Cash Report for approved events and upcoming events. GRANT REQUESTS Shermerfest: Motion made by Commissioner Natenberg to approve a grant in the amount of $450.00 for Shermerfest and Commissioner Moyer seconded. All are in favor, Motion passed. Ice Cream Social: Motion made by Commissioner Block to approve a grant in the amount of $100.00 for “A Sundae in the Park” for the Historical Society and Commissioner Day seconded. All in favor, Motion passed. Northbrook Youth Commission: Motion made by Commissioner Gianni to approve the grant in the amount of $200.00 for the 6th Annual Youth Commission Film Fest and Commissioner Moyer seconded. All are in favor, Motion passed. ART IN THE PARK: General Update: Chairman Miller reported there are 76 Artists of which 57 have paid in full. The Park District will be giving Erin and Megan Melloy, Emma Trausch and one other training on the use of the Golf Cart. Food: Dairy Queen will be there, The North Branch (out of Glenview) will be there. Volunteers: The commissions are working on recruiting more volunteers for Artiest Hospitality and other areas. The poster and postcards will be ready soon for distribution. FINAL REPORT ON SPRING WORKSHOPS: A profit of $455.00 was made from this year’s workshops. We had a very good turnout for the workshops. FINAL REPORT ON NORTHBROOK ORIGINALS: Annual show at the Northbrook Library went very well. The commission spent $250.00 and received nice feedback about the show. REQUEST TO CHANGE MEETING DATES FOR JULY AND OCTOBER 2015: Chairman Miller requested the July 2nd meeting be changed to July 9th and the October 1st meeting be changed to October 8th. All commissioners agreed on the date changes. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None ANNOUNCEMENTS: Rock the Green – Friday, June 5th. ADJOURN Commissioner Block made a motion to adjourn and Commissioner Moyer seconded.
