APPROVED MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE BICYCLE TASK FORCE Northbrook Village Hall – Terrace Conference Room January 14, 2015 Members Present: Frank Bleeker, Jim O’Connell, Angus Duthie, Chris Henning, Tom Tebbe, and Matt Cassidy Members Absent: George Garner Jr., and Mardi Scott Staff Present: Jim Baxa Staff Absent: Mike Metrick and Jennifer Rooks-Lopez Others Present: None Call Meeting to Order. Chairman Henning called the meeting to order in the Terrace Conference Room of the Village Hall at 7:03 p.m. Public Comments – Hear from Audience. No Audience member present. Review November 12, 2014 Minutes. It was moved and seconded that the November 12, 2014 minutes be approved with a minor edit. The motion was approved. Bike Route Priority Selection. The Bike Task Force continued the selection procedure for bicycle/pedestrian projects for future programming into capital development. The committee deliberated and broke down the types of project into two groups; one group being larger projects that would require outside grant funding and consulting engineering design to be involved for the project and a smaller subset of projects which staff can work on with in-house design and include within the Village budget. Large Projects:  Waukegan Road Connection (North of Dundee Road)  Techny River Trail (Willow Road to Techny Road)  Sanders Road connection to Des Plaines River trail (Wood Oaks Park to Dundee Road)  Shermer Road (Willow Road to Walters Avenue)  Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard intersection  Willow and Sanders Road (sidewalk via I-294) Small Projects:  Additional Bike Parking at Metra  Update Bike Plan  January 14, 2015 BTF Meeting Minutes - APPROVED  Bike Safety Standards following Complete Streets planning and design methods  Safety Training Program (w/Active Transportation Alliance) The BTF committee will continue discussion at the March 11, 2015 meeting.
