APPROVED MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE BICYCLE TASK FORCE Northbrook Village Hall – Terrace Conference Room January 13, 2016 Members Present: Jim O’Connell, Angus Duthie, Chris Henning, Frank Bleeker, and Tom Tebbe, Members Absent: George Garner Jr. and Ken Spero Staff Present: Jim Baxa and Nicole Buch (NBK Park District) Staff Absent: Mike Metrick Others Present: Barry Ramsay, Northbrook Resident Call Meeting to Order. Chairman Henning called the meeting to order in the Terrace Conference Room of the Village Hall at 7:06 p.m. Review November 11, 2015 Minutes. It was moved and seconded that the November 11, 2015 minutes were approved with a minor correction to the Project ranking criteria project list. Introductions: Barry Ramfay A three year Northbrook resident Barry Ramsay who moved to Northbrook from Idaho, introduced himself to the committee as an avid bicyclist who tries to ride daily, Barry has worked in the bicycling industry with helmets and tooling. Barry is interested in the function of the Bicycle Task Force committee and is planning on participating in future meetings. Project ranking criteria for potential projects. The Bicycle Task Force (BTF) committee reviewed three of the projects from the master project list. From the Large Project list, was the Shermer Road (Willow Road to Walters Avenue) and Dundee Road & Skokie Boulevard intersection improvements which was modified to Lake-Cook Road & Skokie Boulevard to tie in with the future Skokie Valley Trail project. From the Small Project list one project was selected which was Update Bike Plan. After review and discussion, the projects came in with the following average scoring. Lake-Cook Road and Skokie Boulevard intersection Shermer Road (Willow Road to Walters Avenue) Update Bike Plan Northbrook Park District – Master Plan. Nicole Buch provided a little feedback on what occurred during the Northbrook Park District Master Plan open house. The meeting was facilitated by Hitchcock Design Group and included several kiosk areas where attendees could plans informational tags identifying wish items at park locations throughout the January 13, 2016 BTF Meeting Minutes - APPROVED Village. Hitchcock Design Group will be following up with a post meeting analysis of list of responses categorized by topic to provide input towards the Master Plan. New Business: The Bicycle Task Force (BTF) committee discussed putting together a calendar of events such as Grant submittal due dates, Village Board meetings, Capital Improvement Project reviews, and so forth in order for the committee to better prioritize pre-planning and actions to be taken.
