APPROVED MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE BICYCLE TASK FORCE Northbrook Village Hall – Terrace Conference Room March 9, 2016 Members Present: Jim O’Connell, Angus Duthie, Chris Henning, Frank Bleeker, Tom Tebbe, and Ken Spero Members Absent: George Garner Jr. Staff Present: Jim Baxa and Nicole Buch (NBK Park District) Staff Absent: Mike Metrick Others Present: Barry Ramfay, Northbrook Resident Call Meeting to Order. Chairman Henning called the meeting to order in the Terrace Conference Room of the Village Hall at 7:00 p.m. Review January 13, 2016 Minutes. It was moved and seconded that the January 13, 2015 minutes were approved with a correction to clarify that the initial projects used with in the Project ranking criteria rating was a test run for the committee to become familiar with how the selection process operates. Project ranking criteria for potential projects. Chris Henning, Committee Chair discussed with the committee regarding the importance of the having a Formal Bike Plan in place and adopt a Bike plan. This individual project (SVT) should be considered a significantly higher importance by the BTF committee to contemplate than looking at individual projects that have more of overall background for consideration when championing to the Village Board for approval project in the future. After the discussion the committee reviewed the remain projects on the list. Bike to School Day: The Bicycle Task Force (BTF) committee discussed supporting a motion to request the Village Board the annual Bike to School Day scheduled for May 4th. Earth Day: The Bicycle Task Force (BTF) committee discussed have member in attendance for the annual event that was scheduled for April 16th. Member who volunteered were Frank Bleeker and Tom Tebbe. Literature will be passed out (maps, event dates…) and committee member were to promote the Skokie Valley Trail project.
