1 Minutes of a Meeting of the 2 Northbrook Cares Subcommittee of the 3 Community Relations Commission 4 Northbrook, IL 5 Wednesday, April 6, 2016, 7:30pm 6 7 Present: Chair Bruce Doughty, Subcommittee Members Safa Hamed and Sharon 8 Latek 9 10 Absent: Subcommittee Members Elliot Bruckman and Alice Lonoff 11 12 Others: Village Staff Liaison Erik Jensen 13 14 Welcome 15 Chairman Doughty called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Terrace Room at Village Hall. 16 17 Hear from the Audience 18 There were no public comments. 19 20 Old Business 21 1. Luncheon: 22 23 Chair Doughty stated that the group would need to determine a date for a luncheon with the 24 Exchange Group in the future. 25 26 Member Hamed suggested Friday, May 13 as a tentative date. 27 28 A conversation followed on potential locations and an attendee list. 29 30 Chair Doughty asked Liaison Jensen to get an estimate of how many people would attend 31 and then make a list of potential venues. 32 33 A conversation followed on deadlines and the group agreed to issue invitations by Monday, 34 April 18. 35 36 Member Lonoff suggested that name tags be used at the event. 37 38 Member Latek asked if the event would be run like a forum. 39 40 Chair Doughty stated it would be like a guided conversation. He suggested that the group 41 discuss an outline at the next meeting. 42 43 2. Website 44 45 Liaison Jensen explained some potential options for the website. 46 47 A brief conversation followed how to generate content for and steer the website. 48 49 Member Hamed suggested that an Oakton IT student could be useful in creating the 50 website. 51 52 Liaisin Jensen stated he would look into it. 53 54 New Business 55 Chair Doughty stated there was no new business this evening. 56 57 Schedule Next Meeting 58 Chair Doughty asked when the next meeting should be held. 59 60 The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, April 27 at 7:00pm. 61 62 Adjournment 63 A motion was made by Member Latek and seconded by Member Hamed to adjourn.
