Chair Doughty stated that invitations had been distributed and the luncheon would be held in
the Board Room at Village Hall.

A brief conversation followed on the food to be served. Liaison Jensen said he would send
out options for everyone to review. He also reviewed the RSVPs he had received so far.

Chair Doughty asked the group about the format for the meeting. He stated President Frum
would welcome the group, there would be introductions.

Liaison Jensen overviewed the agencies that had been invited.

Member Latek discussed a recent experience she had with a senior neighbor and that she
wondered if the mission should be expanded to cover seniors.

Member Bruckman stated that the original thought behind Northbrook Cares was to touch
on a variety of different issues but that the focus had been on youth.

Member Latek stated she thought that the issues of adults and senior citizens are often
glossed over.

Member Hamed stated she felt that Northbrook Cares should include all residents.

Member Lonoff stated she felt similarly.

Member Bruckman stated that he was not opposed to expansion and wanted to look at how
the goals for Northbrook Cares could be achieved without simply becoming a source for
referrals to other resources. He stated he thought that Northbrook Cares could also be a
resource in and of itself and potentially create a youth exchange group for teens to support
each other.

Chair Doughty asked Member Bruckman if he was seeking to have a group of individuals
who would be a resource.

Member Bruckman confirmed that.

A conversation followed on the topic. The group agreed to examine it after the luncheon.

helping with the project to connect.
