RYAN PARK MEETING MINUTES July7, 2016 Present: Ryan Park Advisory Committee: Ray Dunlap Bob McDowell. YMCA Norwalk Redevelopment Agency: Susan Sweitzer Tami Strauss Choice Neighborhoods: Tom Ivers, Executive Director Stantec Gary Sorge Jeff Olszewski The meeting was called to order at 3:07pm Stantec presented the Preliminary Site Plan for Ryan Park that addresses prior comments about an expanded Park entry at Day and Raymond, the reduced path widths within the Park, the connected play areas, sculptural water play area and reconfigured amphitheater activity spaces along the southern portion of the Park. The Plan also introduced mid- block pedestrian connection on Day Street to align with the Washington Village planned improvements. The basketball court alignment remains unchanged and the existing parking was slightly reconfigured to add one additional space. Further refinements to the Site Plan will include lighting layouts, fitness track stations on the loop path, basketball seating area and security features. It was suggested that the Norwalk Police liaison officer take a final look at the perimeter layouts and internal circulation to add any additional security enhancements before the Site Plan advances to approvals. The Preliminary Site Plan will be presented for public comment at a community workshop July 19, 2016 6:30pm at 149 Water Street. Following this final public review, the Site Plan will be advanced to the Recreation & Parks Committee of the Common Council August 10, 2016 . The meeting adjourned at 4:10pm
