CONNPAC MEETING MINUTES Date: October 1, 2009 Time: 10:00am Location: Department Of Public Safety, Middletown Attendees: Norwalk, Wilton, Coventry, Glastonbury, Bethel, Bridgeport, Manchester, Berlin, Capitol, Enfield, Judicial Marshal, Monroe Meeting Called to order at 10:00am by Chief Palmer Secretary’s Report: Minutes accepted as submitted Treasurer Report: presented by Chief Palmer: $4637.55 Balance. Bills have been sent out for 2009 dues and most have paid. List forwarded to group showing the status of agencies to date. TOPICS DISCUSSED ANNOUNCEMENTS CSP CALEA onsite scheduled for December Glastonbury CALEA onsite scheduled for December Berlin CALEA onsite scheduled for December PAC will forward phone in and public session information as it becomes available. Bethel PD advised that due to budget cuts, they have withdrawn from the CALEA process as of July. They are maintaining state accreditation. Bridgeport PD welcomed as they are attending their first meeting and are beginning to revise department policies in hope of future Tier I accreditation. OLD BUSINESS Mocks were conducted for CSP (CALEA), Glastonbury (CALEA), Naugatuck (TIER III). Berlin mock scheduled for October 6th. Tier III reaccreditation onsite conducted for Ridgefield PD Accreditation Manager training conducted at POST on September 16th. NEW BUSINESS CALEA agencies should ensure their manuals and CACE programs are updated to change to 5.6 (July 31, 2009) Coventry PD seeking CALEA mock on November 5th. PAC decided that the December meeting to be our annual Luncheon Meeting at MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Executive Board will work out plans and dates and they will be emailed to the PAC. Nominations for officers are due in November, however, since we no longer have a November meeting, vote will be taken at the December meeting. Email for Nominations will be sent to PAC members and slate presented at December meeting. Interested members are asked to consider serving on the board as President, Vice-President, Secretary or Treasurer. Meeting Schedule Next Meeting will be the annual Holiday Luncheon.
