CONNPAC MEETING MINUTES Date: April 1, 2010 Time: 10:00am Location: CSP – Middletown Room 348 Attendees: Norwalk, Coventry, Farmington, Enfield, Manchester, Avon, West Haven, CCSU, State Capitol, Berlin, Bethel, Wilton, Danbury, Darien, Simsbury, CSP Meeting Called to order at 10:16am by Chief Palmer Secretary’s Report: Minutes accepted as submitted Treasurer Report: $3530.16 Balance – Dues invoices will be sent out in June. TOPICS DISCUSSED INTRODUCTIONS Due to the large number of agencies attending and many new agencies in attendance, introductions were made of all those attending. CORRESPONDENCE CPCA Hotline article prepared by Chief Palmer regarding CONNPAC’s role was not included in the April issue. He is hoping that it will be included in the June issue of the newsletter. ANNOUNCEMENTS CALEA On-sites will be conducted at three agencies in April. Avon April 10 – 13 – Public Hearing April 12th at 5:30pm Enfield April 10-13 – Public Hearing April 12th at 7:00pm Coventry April 24 – 27 – Public Hearing April 26th at 6:00pm Chief Palmer is working with Ted Lemay at POST to better link those state agencies seeking accreditation with CONNPAC, and to encourage agencies to join and network. He will be asking that the PAC is informed of any new agencies in the state process. Glastonbury was re-accredited. Berlin was re-accredited and was also named a Flagship agency. OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS CONNPAC will be seeking to conduct Accreditation Manager Training in an upcoming meeting. Training within a meeting may serve to better foster informal discussion. POST Standards Update: Draft changes were suggested and forwarded to POST for the State Accreditation program. The updates have not been issued as yet. The changes were mostly technical to adjust for redundant standards as well as to adjust the Tiers for various standards. No significant changes were made to the content of the standards themselves. CALEA SIRC: Lt. Daly advised that at the last SIRC meeting, several changes were planned. The final report would be adjusted and the summary would not include the recommendations from the tram leader. Discussion took place regarding 2 versus 3 person assessment teams as well as the logistical issues involved. Meeting Schedule June 3, August 5, October 7, and December 2nd. All meetings currently scheduled for 10:00am at Department of Public Safety (CSP – HQ) in Middletown, Room 348. Meeting Adjourned at 1055 hours.
