Call To Order Chair Abu-Taleb called the meeting to order at 10:32 A.M. He authorized a statement be read providing that this meeting is being held remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines and that it is not prudent to have people present in person due to public health concerns related to that pandemic. 2. Roll Call of the Electoral Board (Abu-Taleb, Taglia, Scaman) Present: 3 - Chair Anan Abu-Taleb, Member Vicki Scaman, and Member James Taglia Absent: 0 Also Present: Board Secretary Christina Waters and Village Attorney Paul Stephanides 3. Agenda Approval It was moved by Member Scaman and seconded by Member Taglia to approve the agenda as presented. A roll call vote was taken and the motion was approved. The vote was as follows: Ayes: Chair Abu-Taleb, Member Scaman, Member Taglia Nayes: none 4. Approval of Minutes MOT 21-12 Motion to Approve Minutes from the January 12, 2021 and January 14, 2021 meeting of the Municipal Officers Electoral Board of the Village of Oak Park. It was moved by Member Scaman, seconded by Member Taglia to approve the minutes as presented. A roll call vote was taken and the motion was approved. Call of the Docket ID 21-48 Reconvene hearing in Case No. 2020-1, Peppard v. Clark Village Attorney Stephanides called the reconvening of Case No. 2020-1, Peppard v. Clark Village Attorney confirmed the Electoral Board received the briefs from both parties via email. The Village Attorney asked if Mr. Mullen had any objections to the documents which were submitted by Mr. Peppard, the objector. Mr. Mullen did not have any objection to those documents being entered into the record. Chair Abu-Taleb notified all parties the Electoral Board has retained special counsel. Member Taglia moved to recess Case No. 2020-1, Peppard v Clark, with the intent of reconvening on January 25, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. Member Scaman seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken. The motion was approved. The roll call vote was as follows: Ayes: Chair Abu-Taleb, Member Scaman, and Member Taglia Nayes: none 6. Public Comment Attorney Stephanides reminded members of the Board that public comment is not testimony or evidence to be considered when making decisions for the hearing. Paul Goyette: Mr. Goyette provided a comment in support of Village Trustee candidate Anthony Clark to remain on the ballot. Will Sims: Mr. Sims provided a comment in support of Village Trustee candidate Anthony Clark to remain on the ballot. 7. Adjournment or Recess of Electoral Board Case No. 2020-1, Peppard v. Clark was recessed until January 25, 2021 at 10:30 A.M.
