CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order at 5:00 p.m.

ORAL & WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: None
ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION OR ACTION
1. ACTION ITEM: APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Motion was made by Commissioner Romano to
approve meeting minutes of March 9th, 2026, 2nd by Commissioner Butler. Motion approved unanimously by
voice vote.
2. Reports from City Librarian on financial and monthly statistics: Librarian provided reports for March and
April, 2026.
3. Library Programs, Events and Grants: Librarian shared update about Student Success Partnership with OUSD;
Fairview Community Read-In; FNL Student Expo; Week of the Young Child collaboration with GCOE; Rural
Health Connections events; John Nesbitt donation, Carnegie Foundation grant/Music Garden update; Keller
Williams Red Day volunteer activities; Summer Reading Program planning.
4. Grant Applications and Awards: Library was awarded Zip Books augmentation in amount of $2,388 due to
heavy usage. Empowering Access grant light table for children's section received ($2,995 value); application
for ARSL/Carnegie Foundation Literacy Bridges has been submitted. Barceloux-Tibessart application
requesting funds for the purchase of new books is in progress.
5. DISCUSSION ITEM: 2026/27 Library Budget Library Director and Commissioners discussed library budget.
6. DISCUSSION ITEM: Commissioner Vacancy Library Director and Commissioners discussed recruiting applicants
for commission vacancy.
7. Commissioner and/or Friends of the Library Reports: Mayor Barr reported on City financial situation and
budget issues.
