CAPITOL ST ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 28, 2025 AT 8:30 AM DENNIS SHORT, CHAIRMAN PRESIDING Call to Order Approve Agenda A motion was made by Commissioner Jaskiewicz to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Short, all approved. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Commissioner Jaskiewicz to approve the July 24th, 2025 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Short, all approved. 3.1. Minutes from the July 24, 2025 Meeting Public Input Consent Agenda A motion was made by Commissioner Jaskiewicz to receive and file these reports. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Short, all approved. 5.1. FD - pre employment exam, $350.00 5.2. FD - pre employment exam, $175.00 5.3. FD - pre employment exam, $990.00 5.4. FD - new firefighter testing materials, $765.00 5.5. PD - pre employment exam, $495.00 5.6. FD - pre employment exam, $825.77  5.7. FD - pre employment exam, $825.77 Unfinished Business New Business 7.1. FD - Probationary Reports There are currently two firefighters in the academy and they are progressing well. There are also two in the paramedic program. One will be off of probation starting in October, with the other following next May. The department is working on a third hire for the next academy. 7.2. PD - Probationary Reports The department is looking to hire one new officer who is currently in the background process. They are just waiting for medical test results. The department is considering a different testing approach for new hires and plan to bring that to the Commissioners at the next meeting. 7.3. FD - Promotional testing 2026 The department has set promotional testing dates for 2026. Oral interviews will be conducted with the Commissioners on March 24th, 2026 with written exams being done on March 26th, 2026. The department is looking to revise the testing process with the negotiation of a new contact next year. They discussed possible ideas with the Commissioners and will bring them further information as it becomes available.
