Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor Allegheny General Hospital, its Auxiliary
organization, the Northside Leadership Conference, and our students and teachers,
for their commitment to educating local youth and making their lives safer through the
Stranger Awareness Program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does
hereby declare the month of May 2015 to be “Stranger Awareness Month” in the
City of Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh does hereby commend and recognize the Holocaust Center of
Pittsburgh for working to memorialize and commemorate the legacy of those whose
lives were impacted by the events of the Holocaust; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does
hereby declare Tuesday, April 15, 2015, to be “YOM HASHOA DAY” in the City
of Pittsburgh.

A motion was made that this matter be Adopted. The motion carried
2015-1541 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council and Mayor of
Pittsburgh declare that from April 9, 2015, onward Grant Street shall be dedicated to
the memory of General and President Ulysses S. Grant, his efforts toward the
preservation of the Union, the abolition of slavery, and the restoration of
African-American suffrage, and that a bronze plaque of local manufacture be erected
on an appropriate public building marking this change.

stands with workers across the country who are calling for a wage of $15 per hour
and the right to organize a union; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT we urge employers, from fast-food chains
to universities, to respond to the challenge of rising income inequality by raising wages
significantly so as to ensure broadly shared prosperity that permits employees to
obtain basic necessities like affordable housing, healthcare, and education and to give
their families a dignified life.

Works, Finance, and/or City Planning to enter into a revocable License Agreement or
Agreements with Brighton Heights Citizens Federation to provide green-space
improvements for a designated vacant City lot.

2015-1522 Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Departments of Public
Works, Finance, and/or City Planning to enter into a revocable License Agreement or
Agreements with Fineview Citizens Council to provide green-space improvements for
a designated vacant City lot.

of the City of Pittsburgh; and further, authorizing various City Departments to enter
into contract or contracts or use existing contract or contracts for street paving, the
purchase of equipment and/or furniture and other related costs at a costs not to
exceed $948,400.00” so as to transfer funds in City Council from: “Traffic
Improvements” (-$2,500.00) and transfer these funds to “Union Project”
(+$2,500.00).

Street and Brady Street along Second Avenue in the 2nd Ward of the City of
Pittsburgh, and constituting a portion of the Eliza Furnace Trail.
