2015-1740 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council of the City of
Pittsburgh does hereby commend and celebrate the accomplishments of our fellow
Pittsburgher Jesse Andrews and the talented cast of this Pittsburgh-made and inspired
film, thanking also all of those who worked behind the scenes to produce and
organize this amazing film; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the
City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 16th 2015 to be “Jesse
Andrews’ Me and Earl and the Dying Girl Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

organizations that have come together to make them possible; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the
City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, June 19th 2015 to be “Father’s
Day Pledge to End Gender Violence Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

2015-1742 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and honors the 2015 awardees and extends gratitude to
each individual and organization for making the Northside a great place to live, work
and play; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council acknowledges the efforts that the
NSLC has achieved through collaboration within the community and corporate
organizations and hereby declares June 2015 to be “Northside Leadership
Conference and Awardees Month” in the City of Pittsburgh.

2015-1743 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of

enjoyable event possible; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does
hereby declare June 18 to June 24, 2015, to be “Northside Sandwich Week” in
the City of Pittsburgh.

2015-1744 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of

hereby declare June 16, 2015 to be Toastmasters Carrick PA, Youth Leadership
Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

Roman Catholic Croatian Church North Side Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

2015-1749 NOW , THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh
supports the efforts of Senator Casey to prohibit employers from denying pregnant
workers employment or reasonable accommodations during the course of pregnancy,
childbirth or other related medical conditions, through the introduction of the Pregnant
Workers Fairness Act; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh calls upon
the Members of the Senate and House of Representatives of the 114th United States
Congress to support Senate Bill 1512 and House Bill 2654, to establish, clarify, and
guarantee the rights of pregnant workers in the United States of America. A copy of
this Will of Council shall be circulated to Senators Casey and Toomey, Congressman
Doyle, and President Obama.

2015-1728 Resolution amending Resolution no. 158 of 2013 providing that the City of Pittsburgh
enter into a Professional Services Agreement(s) and/or Contract(s) with Community
College of Allegheny County (CCAC) for the purpose of providing customized
applicant preparation training for Public Safety position applicants and services
associated with Civil Service exam preparation and training; by increasing the total
cost from $24,960.00 to $29,020.00, a $4,060.00 increase in 2015.

compensation, unemployment compensation, participant physicals, transportation,
copier and supplies, and administrative expenditures necessary to implement the 2015
Learn and Earn Summer Youth Employment Program; and providing the periodic
transfer of funds to be used in the 2015 Learn and Earn Summer Youth Employment
Program for payment of cost thereof, cost not to exceed $50,000.00.

COUNCILWOMAN DEBORAH L. GROSS PRESENTS:
2015-1731 Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of City Planning to execute relevant
agreements to receive grant funding to produce a safety video in support of a Bicycle
and Pedestrian Marketing Program in the City and further providing for an agreement
and expenditures not to exceed one hundred thousand ($100,000.00) dollars for this
stated purpose. The City’s funding share of this grant agreement or agreements is in
the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) and shall be payable from
the 2013 Bicycle and Transportation Planning bond account. The State Government’s
(PennDOT) share of this grant agreement or agreements is seventy-five thousand
dollars ($75,000.00) and shall be deposited into the City’s Grants Trust Fund.
