PROCLAMATIONS 2016-0698 NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED, the City of Pittsburgh honors Bobby and his contribution to the community of Carrick and the Carrick Youth Athletic Association; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare August 1, 2016 to be “Bobby Day” in the City of Pittsburgh. The motion carried. 2016-0699 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes the need to reduce spending on nuclear weapons to the minimum necessary to assure the safety and security of the existing weapons, and also does hereby recognize and commend the important work of Remembering Hiroshima, Imagining Peace and their advocacy for the reduction of stockpiles and safer handling procedures worldwide as steps toward a world free of nuclear weapons and for raising awareness of the value of renewable energy and the perils associated with using nuclear power as an interim technology.
