PROCLAMATIONS 2016-0708 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby applaud Citiparks Pittsburgh BIG League Sports and the following Pittsburgh neighborhood athletic organizations for the tremendous work they do and their dedication to our youth: 14th Ward, Beechview, Brighton Heights, Brookline, Carrick, Elliott/West End, Greenfield, Hazelwood, Homewood, Morningside, Sheraden, South Side, Squirrel Hill, Tri Ward (Bloomfield), Urban Impact (Northside), Westwood/Oakwood, Mount Washington/Duquesne Heights; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, August 26, 2016, to be "Citiparks Pittsburgh BIG League Sports Day" in the City of Pittsburgh. The motion carried. 2016-0709 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Anthony Mainiero for his dedication to his country and his neighborhood; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, August 20, 2016, to be “Anthony Mainiero Day” in the City of Pittsburgh. The motion carried. 2016-0711 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Jim Ferlo for his years of dedicated service to the Larimer community and to the City of Pittsburgh as an elected official and as an advocate for neighborhoods; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, August 20, 2016, to be “Jim Ferlo Day” in the City of Pittsburgh. The motion carried. 2016-0712 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the 14th Ward Pony League Team for its successful season, for the dedication and commitment to their team and congratulates them for winning the Big League Championship by beating Brighton Heights in the championship game ; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, August 27, 2016, to be “14TH WARD PONY LEAGUE DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
