2016-0815 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim that Pittsburgh’s North Side and the Port au Prince
localities of Cite de Soleil and Menelas are sister neighborhoods, and does also
encourage the work of Allegheny General Hospital, the Priory Hotel and other North
Side residents and business to support the residents of Cite de Soleil and Menelas in
accordance with the long tradition of North Siders’ generosity in aiding those less
fortunate.

2016-0816 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Mardi Isler for her commitment as

from Tree Pittsburgh; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does
hereby declare Friday, October 7, 2016 to be “MARDI ISLER DAY” in the City
of Pittsburgh.

decades of connecting the young people of Pittsburgh to active and meaningful roles in

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does
hereby declare September 27, 2016 to be “PUMP 20th Anniversary Day” in the
City of Pittsburgh.

Shadyside Presbyterian Church and does hereby celebrate the church’s 150th
anniversary; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does
hereby declare October 2, 2016 to be “Shadyside Presbyterian Church 150th
Anniversary Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

2016-0820 THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Pittsburgh wishes to honor the life and legacy of Officer Ron Smith and extends its
warmest wishes to his family upon the unveiling of a plaque in his honor at the
Western Pennsylvania Humane Society on Monday, September 26, 2016; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in honor of Officer Smith’s legacy, the
Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Monday, September 26th to be
“Ron Smith Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

for the City's Smart City Challenge grant for a sum not to exceed Twenty Five
Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars ($25,500.00) and for the payment of the costs
thereof,” by increasing compensation by Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00).
