PROCLAMATIONS 2016-0852 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby oppose HB 2258 and SB 1330; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby call upon the Allegheny County delegation of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Pennsylvania Senate, as well as Governor Wolf, to join us in opposition to these politically motivated bills that gut the very bedrock upon which our legal system is founded in this country and this Commonwealth and exist only to bankrupt towns while lining the pockets of the gun lobby; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh urges that General Assembly and Governor Wolf to reconsider adopting a statewide lost or stolen handgun reporting requirement (currently circulating in our state House as HB 1020), establishing a uniform system of accountability for missing firearms across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The motion carried. 2016-0853 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulates the Grandview Bakery and Sweet Shop for their 5 years in business and wish them more to come; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, October 11, 2016, to be “Grandview Bakery and Sweet Shop Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
