A motion was made that this matter be Adopted. The motion carried. Enactment No: 831 2018-1173 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend the players, coaches and families of the 14th Ward Youth Baseball Association on this exciting and important trip to Cuba to represent Pittsburgh and promote sportsmanship and the love of baseball; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare December 19-23, 2018, to be “14th WARD YOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION DAYS” in the City of Pittsburgh. Enactment No: 832 2018-1174 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby denounces the federal government’s proposal to erase transgender, non-binary, gender expansive and genderqueer individuals from existence, and; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council calls on Congress to ensure equal protection under the law for all individuals, including the basic need to acknowledge and respect people of all gender identities, and denounces the Trump Administration’s attacks on the rights and humanity of transgender people.
