City Council voted to accept the proposed public art gift on July 14, 2025, Council order 3/25-26. B. Public art fund balance - No updates or invoices paid since last meeting on July 16, 2025. C. Committee members absent (Dennehy, Cole, Michniewicz, Whipple) + May 21, 2025 meeting minutes Motion to Approve Meeting Minutes (KZ), second (AG), All approved by show of hands 2. Governance/Board Development (Berke, Dennehy) A. Committee member seat updates. New committee member – Justin Levesque. Committee member reappointments – Anna Berke, Alison Gibbs, Kat Buckley. • Chair Berke introduced Levesque to the Public Art Committee. • Chair Berke self-nominated to continue as Chair for the upcoming year, seconds by Zagaria & Hrenko to support Chair nomination. Chair Berke nominated Dennehy to continue as Vice-Chair, second by Zagaria. Chair Berke motions to elect Committee member Zagaria to support the Committee Chair officers, second by Hrenko. All Committee positions approved by show of hands (7-0). Page 3 B. Annual plan report FY25 & Proposed budget FY26 draft updates. Met with Staff to finalize annual plan report with recommendations and feedback from committee members. • Chair Berke introduced and Staff shared updates about the draft Annual Plan and Proposed Budget that incorporates Committee members feedback. A final version will be shared with the entire Committee at an upcoming meeting. 3. Staff Communications (King) A. City Council agenda request for July 14th to accept gift of public art from applicants Judith Kendrich & Jim DiBiase. City Council voted unanimously to accept the proposed gift of public art during its 7/14 meeting, this information and access easement will be shared with the Portland Water District in anticipation to its Board of Trustee meeting to be held 7/28. B. Public art fund balance – No updates or invoices paid since last meeting on May 21, 2025 C. Encumbrances for new acquisitions of public art – No updates 4. Subcommittee Reports + Acquisitions (Formerly “Gifts”) Subcommittee (Cole, Zagaria, Hrenko) 1. Subcommittee members to share updates. Zagaria will continue to communicate with the gift donors for the India Street monument. Hrenko & Dennehy met with gift donors for a potential project in Kennedy Park. + Communications Subcommittee (Motter, Berke, Gibbs) 1. Subcommittee members to share updates. Motter suggest to highlight to recent acceptance of the public art gift by City Council on social media. + Collection Management (Formerly “Site Selection”) Subcommittee (Dennehy, Gibbs, Berke, Zagaria) 1. Subcommittee members to share updates. 2. Conservation assessment proposal for FY25 updates. Committee members continue to coordinate with conservators for proposals and quotes to review at an upcoming meeting. 5. Project Reports A. Conservation Projects 1. Jewell Box – Committee member and/or Staff to provide updates and coordination with service providers about possible alterations to remediate issues with vandalism. No updates 2. Passing the Torch – Staff to provide updates on overall traffic and lighting performance. The City’s Transportation Systems Engineer provided vehicle crash data to confirm the irregularity of incidents and prevalence of those crashes with drivers under suspicion of substance use. In addition, the street lighting is completely operational with no outages as of June 26, 2025. The Department of Public Works is evaluating the potential replacement of roadway signage. Committee members request that Staff continue to coordinate with Public Works Staff about roadway signage at the approach to the roundabout. 3. Rustle Diptych II – Staff to provide updates to inground light fixture replacement regarding a quote for additional work to replace the electrical conduit. Committee members request comparison quote and schedule of excavation work to review at an upcoming meeting. Page 4 4.
