Grove Avenue, Rantoul, Illinois Present: David Sherrick – Commission Chairman Brian Schurter – Commission Member Jose Igartua – Commission Member Deputy Chief Justin Bouse – Rantoul Police Department Deputy Chief Rodney Sullivan – Rantoul Police Department Hailey Braden – Recording Secretary 1. Chairman Sherrick called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. 2. Public Comments a. No public comments. 3. Approve Minutes a. Chairman Sherrick made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Commissioner Schurter seconded the motion. The Board voted unanimously to approve the minutes as written. 4. Old Business a. Deputy Chief Sullivan gave an update on the current hiring status. Brennan Crose and Kyle Gretz are graduating PTI on April 21, 2022, Jose Aceves is a lateral hire from Mattoon Police Department that started on April 9, 2022, and Michael Floyd starts April 25, 2022 with a PTI start date of May 8, 2022. He advised that in addition to these hires, there is one more position he would like to fill. There will be a written exam scheduled within the month. He suggested that the Commissioners plan a date for oral interviews before July. 5. New Business a. Deputy Chief Bouse informed the Board of the potential timeline for the Sergeant promotional testing. He mentioned that he has researched other testing companies and would like to continue with I/O Solutions as he feels they have the best quality. He hopes to test the first or second week of October, conduct panel interviews and performance assessments in November, and have the list completed by the time the previous list expires in December. 6. Other Business a. The Commissioners agreed on June 10, 2022 for police oral interviews. b. Due to some members unable to attend, Chairman Sherrick motioned to cancel the quarterly meeting scheduled in July. Commissioner Schurter seconded the motion. The next quarterly meeting of the Rantoul Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is scheduled for Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Rantoul Police Department. 7. Adjournment a. A motion was made by Chairman Sherrick to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Igartua seconded the motion. The Board voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 1:19 p.m.
