Rantoul Village Board of Trustees Special Board Meeting June 16, 2026 6:00 PM 1. Call to Order 2. Roll Call 3. Approval of Agenda 4. Public Participation Citizens wishing to address the Village Board with respect to any item of business listed on the agenda, or any matter not appearing on the agenda, are asked to sign up on the public participation form, and submit it to the Village Clerk prior to the meeting. Comments will be limited to three minutes for each speaker. Section A - Discussion of Application 5. Discussion of the Area Disposal Service, Inc. Siting Application for the proposed Rantoul Recycling and Transfer Station located Northeast of Interstate 57 and West Champaign Ave. Section 39.2 of the Environmental Protection Act (415 ILCS 5) and Chapter 28, Article IV of the Rantoul Village Code sets forth the exclusive siting procedures for pollution control facilities in Illinois. Section 40.1 of the Act and case law require that siting proceedings and decision-making be conducted in accordance with the requirements of fundamental fairness. The application must contain sufficient details of the proposed facility to meet each of the nine criteria. Applicant’s Exhibits presented during the April 17, 2026 Public Meeting. Siting Application for the proposed Rantoul Recycling and Transfer Station located Northeast of Interstate 57 and West Champaign Ave. The Application as filed, and the testimony and evidence concerning the Application, has established that the proposed Facility satisfies all the criteria for local siting approval set forth in Section 39.2 of the Environmental Protection Act (415 ILCS 5) and Chapter 28, Article IV of the Rantoul Village Code. Section C - Public Announcements 7.
