Order of Business The presiding officer shall determine the order of the agenda and all questions of parliamentary procedure at the meeting. Items on the agenda may be taken out of order. Items scheduled to be heard at a specific time will be heard no earlier than the stated time, but may be heard later. A.3 Land Recognition Statement – As cultural advisors to the City of Reno, the Reno Arts & Culture Commission wishes to acknowledge the history of the land we gather upon today. We recognize our country’s establishment by colonialism and its violent impact upon people of color, specifically the Indigenous Paiute, Shoshone and Washoe people, whose ancestral homeland was stolen and developed into what is now known as Nevada. The Reno Arts & Culture Commission would like to invite you to join us in being committed to cultural awareness, social responsibility, and measurable actions to support and benefit the Indigenous people who are living alongside us, on the land we occupy today.
