A.3 Land Recognition Statement – As cultural advisors to the City of Reno, the Reno Arts & Culture Commission wishes to acknowledge the history of the land we gather upon today. We recognize our country’s establishment by colonialism and its violent impact upon people of color, specifically the Indigenous Paiute, Shoshone and Washoe people, whose ancestral homeland was stolen and developed into what is now known as Nevada.
