5. MAYOR'S REPORT
I attended the Hero Helps Community Forum this past Friday.
There was a great turnout for this event.
I attended the St. Andrews Gala on Saturday.
Manny’s Mission 5K was a great success.
I taped a Romeoville in Review Segment for VorTv. Thanks to
Congressman Lipinksi for joining me.
The groundbreaking for the Uptown Square Retail-Outlot 2 will be
held tomorrow at 2:00.
The Chamber will be hosting their Cinco De Mayo Bowling Fiesta
tomorrow at Brunswick Zone.
The Police Awards Banquet and the Rotary Top 10 Dinner will both
be held on May 12th.
Bible Baptist Church will be holding a Kingsman Dash 5K on May
14th.
The Community Garage sale will be held on Saturday, May 14th.
SAC Women’s Auxiliary will be holding a BBQ Raffle Fundraiser on
May 15th at Lost Acres.

16-2203 Proclamation-Endorsing the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus'
Greenest Region Compact 2
A motion was made by Griffin, seconded by Palmiter, that this Proclamation be
Accepted. The motion carried by the following vote:

16-2204 Public Hearing-Cable TV Franchise
Mr Vogel stated that the statute that authorizes the Village to consider a
competing Cable TV Franchise agreement requires the Village to take into
consideration whether four different findings of fact can be made. He
recited those findings into the record. The representative from Metronet
addressed the questions that were raised.
A motion was made by Linda Palmiter, seconded by Ken Griffin, that this Public
Hearing be Opened. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 6- Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee
Micklevitz, and Trustee Clancy
Non-voting: 1- Mayor Noak
Public Hearing-Cable TV Franchise
A motion was made by Trustee Palmiter, seconded by Trustee Griffin, to close
the public hearing. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 6- Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee
Micklevitz, and Trustee Clancy
Non-voting: 1- Mayor Noak
6. CLERK'S REPORT
Congratulations to Officer Gifford who saved a family during a house fire.
Thank a Police Officer for their service to Romeoville.
The CSC will meet on May 17th at 6:30 p.m.

Thanks to the students for participating tonight.
The Student Clerk reported that voter registration is available at the Village
Hall Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

7. CITIZEN'S, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND LIAISON REPORTS

8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT
The Student Village Manager reported that Yard Waste pick up started on
April 4th. Yard Waste bags must be used and no more than 6 bags per
pick up.
The Student Finance Director gave an update on the bond issue that
closed yesterday.

Trustee Chavez (student)-
The Herion epidemic is impacting every corner of our State. A summit was
held this past Friday to address this crisis. Thanks to all who brought this
summit to the Village. This is another reason why the DARE program is so
important to this municipality.
The St Andrew's Gala was a great event.
Thanks to the students that are here tonight.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers.
The Rec Center has magnetic schedules of events of all of the special
events for the year.

Trustee Griffin (student)
The Veteran's Commission met on Tuesday, April 19th and discussed
upcoming events. The next meeting will be July 19th.

A Recreation update was given.

Thanks to the students who participated today. Thanks to Miss Kinder for
mentoring these students.
Valley View hosted their Students Who Excel luncheon. 18 students were
recognized.
Manny's Mission with the help of the ATI Foundation raised $40,000.

Thanks to the students, they did a fantastic job.
The Youth Outreach Commission will meet on June 6th. The Smartest
Trivia event will take place on May 13th. The Commission is looking for
volunteers.
The Youth Police Academy is taking registration through May 13th.
The Citizen's Fire Academy is taking registration through May 7th.
The Recreation Department is hosting a wide variety of camps for the
summer.
There will be a Dodge Ball fundraiser on May 20th to help Harvest
