Mayor Noak stated that this is not a q and a session and we would be happy to answer his questions at a later time. 4. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Noak stated that letters regarding the electric aggregation where sent out. Please do your due dilligence with respect to this program. If you wish to opt out, you need to do so. Do what works best for your family. Congratulations to Harris Bank who held their ribbon cutting last Thursday. Congratulations to the RYFC Hall of Fame inductees. The Disabled Veteran’s Golf Outing will be held on September 11th. Join us for the parade on September 17th. CLERK'S REPORT Congratulations to the Commission/Committee members. The Community Service Council will meet on September 19th. Their first annual Autumn Gala will be held September 14th. The Valley View Enrichment Foundation is participating at the schools curriculum nights. Congratulations to the Knights of Columbus. 7. CITIZEN'S, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND LIAISON REPORTS Trustee Aguirre-Police and Fire The Police and Fire Commission chose the dates for the oral assessments for the first 50 applicants who passed the written test. The dates are October 1-6, 2017. The next meeting will be September 12th. Trustee Richards-REMA/Planning and Zoning/Zoning Board of Appeals The next Planning and Zoning meeting will be September 12th. A Concept Plan for a proposed Checker's restaurant will be presented. Trustee Clancy-Beautification/Parks and Recreation A Recreation update was given. Trustee Griffin-Veteran's Commission/EDC The Veteran's Commission will meet on October 17th. Join us for the Veteran's Day Ceremony. Trustee Palmiter-Special Events/Humane Society/Finance A Finance update was given. They discussed the upcoming events through September. The next meeting is October 10th. Members of the Humane Society are going to Texas to bring animals affected by the hurricane up here for fostering. They are looking for foster families. Trustee Chavez-VorTv/Youth Outreach/Green Team The Youth Outreach scholarship applications are available. The Youth Outreach Guide is available online. The next meeting will be September 11th. If you are interested in joining the commission please contact the Recreation Center. 8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT Be wary of scams that are out there for Hurricane Harvey donations. 9. NEW BUSINESS A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Richards, to do a consent agenda for all New Business including the revision to ORD17-1399 revisions to Sections 112A.05J and 112A.09D. BOARD COMMENTS Trustee Chavez- Thanks to RYFC for recognizing their Hall of Fame inductees. This organization has done a lot of good for our youth. Edward Hospital Athletic and Event Center will be very busy in October. He listed some of the scheduled events. It is good to see this center being busy. Community Garage Sale will be September 9th. There will be a shred event on September 16th at Abri Credit Union. This is sponsored by State Representative Natalie Manley and State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. I support waiving the fees for our non profit organizations for the raffle license. Trustee Palmiter- Condolences to the family of JoAnne Ropke. Prayers for Texas, Florida and the Caribbean. Trustee Griffin- The Romeoville Mosque Open House was a great event. Thanks to all who work so hard for the Disabled Veteran's Golf Outing.
