1. CALL TO ORDER

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Clancy, to do a
consent agenda. The motion carried by the following vote:

Absent: 2- Trustee Palmiter, and Trustee Richards
Non-voting: 1- Mayor Noak
Approval of the Consent Agenda
A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Aguirre, to approve
the Consent Agenda. The motion carried by the following vote:

5. MAYOR'S REPORT
Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims in Las Vegas.
Condolences to Pat Garber on the loss of her husband and to the
family of Brian Andersen. Also to 3 of my colleagues who lost
family members.
Prayers to Trustee Richards whose father is ill.
Staff and I attended the ICSC Chicago Deal Making Conference last
week. We had a lot of good conversations at this event.
The Village received an EDIE Award for Amazon. We have received
4 of these awards since its inception in 2008.
Laser Products Industries held a ribbon cutting for their new
training academy on Monday.
Representative Connor will be hosting a Senior Celebration on
October 6th from 9-12 at the Recreation Center.
The Fall Craft Show will be held on October 7th at the Rec Center.
JJC will be holding a ribbon cutting for their new expansion on

October 10th at 3:30.
The Fire Department Open House will be held on October 14th at
Fire Station 3 from 11-2.
Staffing Network will be having a ribbon cutting on October 17th at
9:30.
17-2404 Proclamation-Citizens Against Abuse
Reverand Harris who is the chair of Citizen's Against Abuse accepted the
proclamation. He thanked the Board for this proclamation. Please come
out on October 12th for our rally and march. This year's theme is bullying.
We cannot do enough to stop this abuse.
A motion was made by Trustee Chavez, seconded by Trustee Clancy, that this
Proclamation be Accepted. The motion carried by the following vote:

17-2406 Appointment of Student Planning and Zoning Commission
Member
Angelica Molen stated that it is an honor to be taking on this position. She
thanked the Board for this appointment.
A motion was made by Trustee Chavez, seconded by Trustee Griffin, that this
Appointment be Accepted. The motion carried by the following vote:

6. CLERK'S REPORT
Prayers to Dave Richards and his family and speedy recovery to his father.
Congratulations to the Founders Day Parade winners.
The Valley View Enrichment Foundation met on September 27th. They are
focusing on the annual dinner in March. The theme for this years' dinner is
school days. The next meeting is October 25th.
The Community Service Council will meet on October 17th.
Welcome to our new Student Planning and Zoning member.

8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT
The watermain project on Montrose is ongoing.
We have received a lot of positive comments on our decorative street
lighting project.

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Clancy, to do a

Eligible Costs In A Possible Tax Increment Finance District And
To Induce Development Interest Within Such Area (Independence
Blvd TIF)
This Resolution was Approved.
RES17-2396 A Resolution authorizing the waiving of bids to purchase 6 MSA
G1 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, 58 air cylinders, and
other necessary SCBA accessories, from Air One Equipment,
Inc., South Elgin, Illinois a distributor of MSA Products, in the
amount of $79,990.00
This Resolution was Approved.
10. BOARD COMMENTS
Trustee Chavez-
Welcome Angelica to our Planning and Zoning Commission.
Congratulations to the parade winners.
Many thanks to JJC for leading the parade.
St. Andrew's Bingo Night is this saturday.
These TIF projects along Route 53 are part of the long term plan that is
finally coming to fruition.
Prayers to Trustee Richards.
The Costumes and Cocktails fundraiser is November 4th. The cost is
$20.00/person.
Trustee Griffin-
Thoughts and prayers to Trustee Richards.
There will be a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting next Tuesday.
We lost a long time member of the EDC, Brian Andersen passed away this
week. He will be missed.
The Veteran's Commission is getting ready for the Veteran's Day Service.

The Beautification awards will be held next week.

The Firefighter's Mass will be held October 8th at 10:30 a.m.
Pink Heals will be honoring long time Fire Department employee Diane
Michalec by naming their newest truck (which was donated by the
Romeovillle Fire Department) after her. The truck will be on display at the
Fire Department open house on October 14th.
Trustee Aguirre-
Our Fire and Police Commission are conducting oral interviews.
Congratulations to the parade winners.

Clerk Holloway stated that the Valley View Enrichment Foundation
