PETITIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Jerry Capps-Friends of the White Oak Library The Library is holding a Murder Myster Affair this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Crest Hill Branch. The tickets are $50.00/person. This will be an enjoyable evening. The funds will be used to host our author night. Tickets are available at the library and online. 4. MAYOR'S REPORT Condolences to the family of Officer Sandy Dreher. Condolences to the Boudouris Family. Holiday Inn held their ground breaking on July 24th. Thanks to all who worked to make RomeoFest such a success. Rainmakers Irrigation held their ribbon cutting on August 2nd. Happy 90th birthday to Ruth McCartan. Thanks to all who came out for our first National Night Out with the Police. It was a great event. Irene King will be hosting a 50th Anniversary Celebration on August 26th from 3-5. Good luck to all the students who will be starting their school year in the next few weeks. Village offices will be closed on September 4th for Labor Day. 18-2515 A Motion Appointing a New Police and Fire Commission Member Gary Hoffman thanked the Mayor and Board for appointing him. He will do the best he can in this capacity. A motion was made by Trustee Chavez, seconded by Trustee Clancy, that this Motion be Approved. CLERK'S REPORT None 7. CITIZEN'S, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND LIAISON REPORTS Trustee Aguirre-Police and Fire/Uptown Square The Police and Fire Commission meeting was moved to Tuesday, August 21st. Welcome to our new commissioner. Trustee Richards-Planning and Zoning/Zoning Board of Appeals/REMA Thanks to REMA for all of their help with RomeoFest, they did a wonderful job. Planning and Zoning will meet on August 28th. Viga Design and Romeoville Truck Wash will be on the agenda. Trustee Clancy-Beautification/Parks and Recreation A Recreation update was given. Trustee Griffin-Veteran's/EDC The Veteran's Commission is hosting a banner program. The information for this program is on our website. For those of you that have American Flags in their garden, the flag should never touch the ground. The next Special Events meeting will be October 9th. Trustee Chavez-Green Team/Vor-Tv/Youth Outreach Vor-Tv members worked very hard during RomeoFest. They have already uploaded some of the footage from the fest. The Youth Outreach Costume Fundraiser will be November 3rd. This is a great fundraiser. The next meeting will be September 10th. 8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT Welcome to Josh Potter who is our interim Community Development Director. Special thanks to all who worked to make our fest such a success. The only complaint was that we need more seating. Get well to Bernice Holloway. Welcome to our new Chaplain. Many thanks to Gary Hoffman. He is very active in our community. We are accepting applications for part time firefighters, paramedics and EMT's. We are accepting applications for the next Citizen's Police Academy. This is a great program. Kids are back in school. Trustee Palmiter- Condolences to the family of Sandy Dreher and to the Boudouris family. Get well Bernice. Congratulations to Ruth McCartan on her 90th birthday.
