Jerry Capps-
There is a referendum on the ballot for the White Oak Library. Please vote
for this referendum.
Dwight Bendel-
His concern is the Route 53 corridor. The property that is under
construction is full of weeds and there is a silt fence blocking the bus stop,
this needs to be addressed Also, on the east side of the road, there is a
building that was demolished and the lot is a blight to the community and
wants to know why it has not been restored. Thirdly, why are vehicles
allowed to block the sidewalks with their cars. The citizen's have a right to
the sidewalks.

5. MAYOR'S REPORT
Route 53 is under the state of Illinois jurisdiction. To that end, we
understand the need for safety along this corridor. We were
joined by our elected officials and IDOT to discuss this corridor. It
was very good dialogue.
CT Realty hosted a grand opening event, Lewis University dedicated
their new student center and Allegra held a ribbon cutting for their
new location on September 27th.
I attended the ribbon cutting for Pace Bus’s new Lewis to
Downtown route which was held at Lewis yesterday.
Rep. Connor will be holding a Senior Fair on Friday, October 5th
from 9-12 at the Recreation Center.
Rezza’s Auto Care will be having a ribbon cutting on October 12th.
Join us for a Night out with the Firemen on October 12th starting at
5:00 here at Deer Crossing Park.
The October 17th Board Meeting will be cancelled.
18-2527 Proclamation-Fire Prevention Week
Chief Adams thanked the Board for this proclamation. He said to please
take the theme "Look-Listen-Learn" to heart. Fire Prevention Week started
in 1871 after the Chicago fire. There is one fire every 86 seconds. Home
cooking fires are the biggest culprit. He invited residents to the Friday
Night with Fire Prevention event on October 12th up at the Village Hall.
Trustee Griffin added to be sure that everyone has a fire emergency plan
with their family in place in case of a fire in their home.
A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Clancy, that this
Proclamation be Accepted. The motion carried by the following vote:

18-2533 Proclamation-Citizens Against Abuse
Representatives from Citizen's Against Abuse thanked the Village for this
proclamation, the Village has always been supportive of their organization.
The theme this year is "what are the faces of abuse" and the response to
that is everybody.
Mayor Noak thanked them for all that they do.
A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Richards, that this
Proclamation be Accepted. The motion carried by the following vote:

18-2536 Appointment of Commission/Committee Member
Daniel McRaven is the new student Planning and Zoning member. He is a
senior at Romeoville High School and he is excited to be the student
member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. He has spoken to
Angelica who was last year's student to get some tips.
A motion was made by Trustee Richards, seconded by Trustee Griffin, that this
Appointment be Accepted. The motion carried by the following vote:

Welcome to our new student Planning and Zoning member.
Congratulations to Kirk on his appointment.
Thanks to all who sent her well wishes after her surgery. Thanks to Trustee
Palmiter for taking her to the parade.
The Community Service Council held their gala on September 14th.
The Valley View Enrichment Foundation is planning a fall event at Metal
Monkey.
Early voting will be available at Village Hall on October 22nd thru
November 2nd from 9-4:30.
The last day to register to vote at the Village Hall is October 9th and on line
is October 22nd.
Sample ballots are available on the Will County Clerk's website.
The Will County Clerk is looking for election judges.
7. CITIZEN'S, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND LIAISON REPORTS
Trustee Aguirre-Police and Fire/Uptown Development
The next Fire and Police meeting will be October 9th. The full time fire
fighter testing will take place October 27th at Romeoville High School.
Trustee Richards-Planning and Zoning/Zoning Board of Appeals/REMA
Thanks to REMA for all that they do. They are constantly training to be
ready in an emergency.
Planning and Zoning will meet on October 9th. There are two items on the
agenda.
Trustee Clancy-Beautification/Parks and Recreation
The Beautification Awards banquet will be held on October 15th at 7:00
p.m.
A Recreation update was given.
Trustee Griffin-Veteran's Commission/EDC
The Veteran's Commission will be meeting October 16th. Information on
our new banner program is out on our website.
Trustee Chavez-Youth Outreach/Green Team/VorTv
The Youth Outreach Commission fundraiser will be held on November 3rd.
The cost is $20.00. It is a 21 and over event.
